What is Database ? Describe the application of using database ?

        A database is an organized collection of structured information or data, typically stored electronically in a computer system. A database is usually controlled by a database management System (DBMS). Together the data and the DBMS, along with application that are associated with them, are referred as a database system.

◼️ Database is a collection of data and set of programs to access and store those data in an easy and efficient manner.
◼️ DBMS is a s/w which is used to manage the database.
Ex : MySQL, oracle etc.

Application of using database :-

Database applications are s/w programs designed to collect, manage and disseminate information efficiency.
Purpose :-
Database applications are used to search, sort, calculate, report and share information.

Database system application :-

◼️ Banking : Customer information, accounts loans and balancing transaction.
◼️ Airlines : Reservation, cancellation and schedule information, also staff & passenger information.
◼️ Universities : Student and course information and registration and result with grades.
◼️ Sales : For customers, Product and purchase information.
◼️ Credit card transaction : Purchase of credit card and generation of monthly bills.
